Schedule Updates using Drag and Drop

Schedule Updates using Drag and Drop

There are times when managers need to move an employee’s shift to a different time or day, or even assign the shift to a different employee in the schedule. They can use the drag and drop feature in the schedule to perform these actions quickly and intuitively.

Use Drag and Drop to Reschedule or Transfer a Shift

Managers can reschedule or transfer a shift using drag and drop in the schedule.

Navigation:Main Menu > Schedule > [Select a Schedule]

  1. In the schedule, select the applicable shift.
Note To copy the shift instead, hold the Ctrl key.
  2. Drag the shift to the new time, day, or employee, then release the mouse to “drop” it.
  3. Select Save.
Important You cannot move a shift:
    • to a group row in the By Schedule Group or By Employment Terms views.
    • to a locked day.
    • if the shift starts or ends on a locked day.
Note If you move a shift to an employee with a different job, the shift results in a transfer.
    • To move a shift by 15-minute increments, select a date span of 1 or 2 days.
    • To move a shift by 1-day increments, select a date span of more than 2 days.
