Administrators identify the positive and negative carryover types for each policy.
- Select the carryover type. When the maximum, minimum, and carryover values are set in the time off policy, these values are respected for each accrual rule type.
- Select Add Limit to add a new limit.
- From the Add Fields drop-down list, complete the fields for maximum and minimum balances:
- Minimum Balance field
- Maximum Balance field
- End of Year Minimum field – Limit a minimum threshold per policy. If this option is selected when an employee requests time off or enters time on a timesheet and the hours or days requested or entered cause the balance to be less than the minimum, then the employee receives an error message.
- Positive Carry Over
- Negative Carry Over – Allows you to automate limits for negative carryover. Values include None, Numerical Value, Percentage, and 100% Negative Carry Over.
- Maximum Annual Accrual field – Limit the maximum amount an employee can accrue per policy year. If this option is added as a limit, then two options appear:
- Manual And Import Transactions Count Towards Maximum Annual Accrual – Accrual amount calculated against the limit includes manual and import transactions. If you remove all maximum annual accrual limits, then the Manual And Import Transactions Count Towards Maximum Annual Accrual option is no longer visible on the Limits page.
- Carryover Transactions Count Towards Maximum Annual Accrual – Accrual amount calculated against the limit includes carryover transaction amounts.
- Maximum Annual Usage field – Limit the maximum amount of accrual usage allowed per policy year. If this option is selected when an employee requests time off or enters time on a timesheet and the maximums are exceeded, then the employee receives an error message.
Note:
Annual payout occurs before annual carryover (for example, with 100 percent payout there will never be any carryover).
- Select Yes if carryover amounts should expire, and then complete the expiration period information.
- If applicable, select the policy to roll over to. The rollover can only be configured to move hours to a single policy. If the Allow Carry Over Expiry field is set to Yes, the page does not display the Roll Over to Policy field.
- Select Next to go to Additional Details.
