Configure the Data Synchronization Task for Event-Driven Integrations

Configure the Data Synchronization Task for Event-Driven Integrations

The Data Synchronization Task Wizard enables you to define how data from UKG Pro moves to your target when an UKG Pro Event occurs (such when an employee's address or name changes, or when a new employee is hired).

Navigation:Informatica > Data Integration > Data Synchronization

Prior to beginning this task, the UKG Pro and target connections must be created. Log in to Informatica using the login credentials provided by UKG.

Note

Data synchronization tasks do not support complex filtering or the use of parameters. If you want to use complex filters or parameters to only export the employee or payroll records that triggered the event, configure a data mapping task.

  1. From the Data Integration page, select New. The New Asset pop-up page displays.
  2. Select the Tasks link.
  3. From the Tasks page, select Synchronization Task.
  4. Select Create. The New Synchronization Task Wizard appears.
  5. From the Definition page, enter a unique name and optional description. At the Location field, select Browse to choose a Project folder.
  6. From the Task Operation drop-down list, select the operation you want to perform.
    Data Synchronization Definition Step
  7. Select Next. The Source page appears.
  8. From the Connection drop-down list, select the UKG Pro connection. For integration tasks that are automatically triggered by the UKG Pro event, be sure to select the UKG Pro connection that uses the HR, Payroll Talent, Benefits application module.
  9. From the Source Type radio buttons, select Single Object if the field data to be extracted exists in a single UKG Pro object.
  10. From the Source Object field, use the Select button to select the UKG Pro object and select OK. The object appears in Object field.
    Note

To reference the fields contained in each object, view the UKG Pro Fields Listing for Informatica spreadsheet available in the UKG Community Library.

    Data Synchronization Source Step
    Note

If the fields to be included in the integration exist in multiple related UKG Pro objects, select Multiple Objects from the Source Type radio buttons. Then, use the Add Primary and Add Sibling buttons in the Source Objects section to add multiple objects based on their relationship.

    Add Multiple Source Objects

When adding two objects that have a one-to-many relationship, which is referred to as a collection, a specific order must be followed. The object identified as the collection must be added as the primary object. Otherwise, the integration may contain duplicate records. To view the objects with related collections, refer to the job aid titled, UKG Pro Objects and Related Collections in Informatica Cloud.

  11. Select Next. The Target page appears.
  12. From the Connection drop-down list, select the target to which the UKG Pro data is to be exported.
  13. From the Target Object field, use the Select button to select the target object and select OK.
    Data Synchronization Target Step
    Note

When selecting a database target, you must first create the database tables and database user before completing the data synchronization task. Database user accounts must have DELETE, INSERT, SELECT, and UPDATE privileges.

  14. Select Next. The Data Filters page appears.
  15. Create an optional data filter to filter the UKG Pro data prior to import into your target. For example, you can extract only employees whose last names begin with the letter, G.
  16. Select Next. The Field Mapping page appears.
  17. Map the fields by dragging the fields from the Source column on the left to the corresponding fields in the Target column. Only mapped fields are included in the integration.
    Data Synchronization Field Mapping Step
  18. Select Save.
  19. Select Finish. The new data synchronization task appears. You can now attach this task to an UKG Pro event so that when the event occurs, the data is exported from UKG Pro and imported into your target automatically.
    Important

It may take up to five minutes for newly-added tasks to appear for selection in UKG Pro Integration Events.
