Configure UKG Talk
UKG Talk Solution Overview
The UKG Talk solution is a communication and collaboration platform that allows your organization to connect with employees and your employees to connect with each other.
Using similar functionality to other social media platforms, employees can view activity feeds, post in groups, and direct message with coworkers. Also, managers of multiple locations can create groups based on job criteria, announce company news, share important information, and adhere to security policies.
The UKG Talk solution includes specific configuration steps to connect the UKG Pro WFM solution to the UKG Talk solution. The following steps must be completed for a successful integration:.
Add entitlements to People Information in Maintenance.
Activate the Feature Switch.
Activate the Function Access Control Point.
Add tile to Home Page Profile.
Update Display Profile.
Run integration using the All Communication Users Hyperfind feature.
UKG Talk Entitlements Access
The UKG Talk solution pairs with the UKG Pro WFM solution to handle authentication, authorization, and entitlements for users.
Access to the UKG Talk solution is controlled by entitlements. Administrators must assign a Communications entitlement and Timekeeping entitlement to users to allow access to UKG Talk functionality. Administrators can check the Entitlement Summary page to validate that the correct entitlements were provisioned. Entitlements are assigned in People Information under Maintenance.
All Communication Users Hyperfind
The All Communication Users hyperfind allows administrators to gather attributes, such as name and contact information, and bring this information to the UKG Talk solution.
This All Communication Users hyperfind is used in the integration from the UKG Pro WFM solution to the UKG Talk solution. The All Communications Users hyperfind gathers people attributes for users and allows managers to use employee information for various actions, such as creating groups and rules.
The default attributes are:

Activate UKG Talk Feature Switch
To start the UKG Talk solution integration process, you must activate the feature switch in Application Setup.
- From the Feature Switch page, select the Communications feature switch.
- Select Edit.
- At the Enabled field, select Yes .
- Select Save.
Activate Function Access Control Point
Access is granted in a user's Function Access Profile to run the UKG Talk integration. This setting isactivated for all Function Access Profiles of users who need to be synced with the UKG Talk solution.
- From the Function Access Profiles page, select a profile to edit.
- In the Manager - System Configuration section, select APIs, and then select Rest API.
- Locate the Current User Information API Function Access Control Point and set it to Allowed.
- Select Save.
UKG Talk Tile Access
The UKG Talk tile, also known as the Communications tile, links to the Talk solution.
This tile is visible to employees if they are assigned a Communications entitlement. The administrator must add the Communications tile to a Home Page profile and update the Display Profile in order to add the tile to a homepage.
Add Tile to Home Page Profile
As part of the integration process, you must add the UKG Talk tile to the Home Page Profile.
- From the Home Page Management page, select a profile and then select Edit.
- In the Tiles section, select the Communications tile to add to the user's Home Page Profile.
- Select Save.
Update Display Profile
Once the Communications tile is added to a Home Page Profile, as part of the integration process, you must update the Display Profile.
- From the Display Profiles page, select a profile, and then select Edit.
- At the Home Page field, select the appropriate Home Page Profile from the drop-down list.
- Select Save.
