Manage Development Opportunities
Manage Development Opportunities
The Career Development feature is used to manage development opportunities. Managers can require development opportunities for an employee to complete, or employees can elect to participate in optional development opportunities. Multiple sessions can be created allowing flexibility for employees to complete a development opportunity at a time convenient for them.
Employees, managers, and administrators can use Career Development to manage, track, and complete required and optional development opportunities.
When a preferred partner learning management system is integrated with the UKG Pro solution, the learning management system's development opportunities can be viewed and managed in the UKG Pro solution.
Development Opportunities
Development Opportunities include resources and engagements that allow individuals to receive continuous development for career growth purposes. Career Development facilitates the creation, participation, completion, and tracking of these opportunities.
Available development opportunities provide employees with a library of options for selection based on individual needs. Both Available and Required development opportunities are listed for employees to review. Based on level of importance, the employee can select to either view all available opportunities or view only required opportunities. Employees can then elect to participate in a listed development opportunity and if available, select a specific session date and time.
Current development opportunities provide employees with an overview of their current development initiatives. Employees can complete and/or withdraw from a development opportunity.
Completed development opportunities provide employees the ability to track and review historical training plans as well as completion details.
Development Opportunities Library
Managers and administrators can create a library of development opportunities. Development opportunities can be assigned, or marked as required, to one or more employees. Development opportunities can be completed for one or more employees.
Manage development opportunities using the Development Opportunities page. Employees can view and participate in development opportunities on the Career Development pages.
The information that appears on the Development Opportunities page includes the opportunity Title, Description, Category, Delivery Method, Required For, Skills & Competencies, Status, and Source. By default, active opportunities display on the Development Opportunities page. Use the Find By filter to display inactive opportunities.
When the full suite of Talent Management features is not activated, Skills & Competencies are not available for Development Opportunities.
