Goal Weighting

Goals can be weighted for use in performance reviews. Goal weighting indicates which goals are most important, allowing employees to prioritize their work and day-to-day tasks.

In a performance review, goal weights display next to each goal. The weighted average of the goals is used to determine the score of the Goals section.

Note

Managers and employees should collaborate on the weights assigned to each goal. This ensures that all involved understand top priorities, so there are no surprises during performance reviews.

Add or Change Goal Weighting

Add or change goal weighting on the Add/Change Goal Weighting page.

Employee

Navigation:Menu > Myself > Career & Education > Goals > Things I Can Do > Add/Change Goal Weighting

Manager

Navigation:Menu > My Team > My Employees > select employee > Career & Education > Goals > Things I Can Do

  1. From the Goals page, Things I Can Do section, select the Add/Change Goal Weighting link.

    Note

    Goals must display on the Goals page in order to be assigned a goal weight.

  2. From the Add/Change Goal Weighting page, enter a weight for each goal listed.

    Note

    Goal weights for non-editable goals cannot be changed.

    Total goal weight can be less than, more than, or equal to 100%. Sum of goal weights, totaling less than or more than 100%, are adjusted to 100% when ratings are calculated during the review.

    Ratings are calculated equally in the review if total goal weight is 0%.

  3. Select Save. The Goals page appears with the new information.

    Only inactive, undistributed goals can be deleted.
