Time codes are needed to associate with time code groups. Time codes identify categories of time that can be tracked.
Important:
Before creating a time code, be sure to first create pay types. See the Create a Pay Type topic.
Navigation: Menu > Administration > Workforce Management Classic > Time Classic > Settings > Time Codes
Select Create.
Enter the code and name.
Note:
When creating a new time code, the code name (description) can match that of the pay type and the earnings code created in UKG Pro.
Select the pay type and data type. Data type selections include:
Time – Hourly for exact time on a timesheet (for example, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.) or Duration for hours on a timesheet (for example, 8 hours).
Numeric – Helpful for employees who need to enter units (for example, submit mileage data on their timesheets).
Currency – Currency is important when employees live across multiple countries. Currency also enables tips to be entered.
If necessary, enter start and end dates; the time code can only be used in the date range specified.
Select Save. The newly created code appears in the alphabetical list on the Time Codes page.
You can specify if time codes should be on or off and if the entry type is hourly or duration (Settings > Timesheet Configuration Group [under Screen Configuration] > Update Time Codes). If the data type for a time code is Numeric or Currency, you cannot change anything.
