Close an Opportunity

Once an Opportunity is filled and more applicants are no longer needed, you can close the Opportunity to complete the last step of the recruiting process.

Closing an Opportunity is a final action and cannot be undone. For this reason, Recruiters sometimes wait to close the Opportunity until the candidate is hired and begins their first day of work.

You can also choose to leave an Opportunity open even after hiring candidates, to keep it posted on job boards and collect more applications.

When you close an opportunity:

Navigation: Opportunities
  1. From the Opportunities page, select the check box next to the Opportunity you want to close.
  2. Select Close.
  3. From the Select Reason for Closing drop-down list, select the reason that you are closing the Opportunity.
  4. Answer the two questions.
  5. Send an email to the applicants being moved to the Decline step:
    1. Select Yes under the question "Do you want to email the applicant(s) about the opportunity being closed?"
    2. From the Email Template drop-down list, select an email template or enter your own email Subject and Body.
  6. Select Close Opportunity.
