Hire a Candidate

When you have chosen a candidate for an Opportunity, you can start the hiring process from the Opportunity's applicant list page.

Note:

If the applicant you want to hire is an inactive internal candidate, you need to verify that the applicant has an email address in their Recruiting profile before you rehire. For more information, see Prepare an Inactive Internal Candidate for Rehire.

In order to complete a hire, the Opportunity must have:

The sequence of steps to get to the point of hiring depends on your Recruiting Process.

Hiring a candidate does not automatically decline other candidates, or close the Opportunity.

If for some reason you need to undo the hiring process, you can move a hired candidate to a Declined step in Recruiting. However, you must also terminate the employee in UKG Pro.

Navigation: Opportunities > [select Applicant count of a specific Opportunity]

  1. In the Actions column of the applicant list, select the button in the row of the candidate you want to hire. Then select Disposition.
  2. In the Choose Another Step list, select Hire.
  3. In the Choose a Reason for the Move list, select a move reason.
  4. Enter comments as needed.
  5. Select Save and continue to hire.
  6. Review the information on the Hiring Details page.
  7. Enter dates:
    1. In Offer Date, enter the date the candidate's offer was sent.
    2. In Accept Date, enter the date the candidate accepted the offer.
    3. In Hire Date, enter the date the candidate is hired.
    4. In Start Date, enter the candidate's first day of work.
  8. In FTE, enter the number of FTE (full-time equivalency) units allocated to this candidate.
  9. In Tax Location, select the tax location for this candidate.
  10. Enter the names of the candidate's Hiring Manager, Onboarding Owner, and Supervisor.
  11. To hire the candidate, select Hire. To save the hiring for a later time instead, select Save Draft.

    Note:

    To return and complete the hire later, open the applicant list for the Opportunity, and select Hire in the blue message bar at the top of the list.

    Recruiting sends the hired candidate's information to UKG Pro, and to Onboarding if your organization uses Onboarding.
